I took drafting and architectural design classes way back in high school, and I have always been good with spacial relationships. For a while, I thought I would become an architect, but the graphic designer muse prevailed. So, when it was decided that the Bloomberg Markets magazine prepress room would be renovated, I helped plan out the interior arrangement, including proposals to add a doorway and move a wall inward to create a separate copier room. My plans aided in the visualization of the space to help the final decision process, and version 6 was ultimately chosen and, when implemented, was guided by my floor plan. This has little to do with graphic design per se, but it did help organize the physical flow of the room and create a more-efficient workspace.
